Ashburn diners are saying a sudden goodbye to a longtime One Loudoun restaurant. The City Tap House has closed permanently according to a source tied to the establishment, The Burn reported.
The business has not yet made a statement on the closure, but the building’s doors are locked and the windows are covered. Both the restaurant’s Google and Yelp pages list City Tap House as permanently closed. The Ashburn location has also been removed from City Tap’s website and One Loudoun’s business directory.
Known for its craft beer list and global twists on classic pub food, the chain first opened its Virginia location in 2019. The City Tap House currently has four locations operating in DC, Boston, and Philadelphia. The One Loudoun location was at 20376 Exchange St., Ashburn, in the space formerly occupied by Hail & Hog Kitchen & Tap.
The closure has not impacted the Lost Fox Hideaway, situated above City Tap House. The two concepts share partial ownership.
There is no word on what might replace the large restaurant space.
