City Tap House in Ashburn reopens today

Look no further for cold brews than City Tap House at One Loudoun.

By Alice Levitt July 23, 2020 at 3:11 pm

Amid the current heat wave, we’re thinking about little besides chilling out with a delicious beer. The evidence? Just head to the newsstand to check out our current cover story, all about suds-fueled road trips. We’re also in the middle of Battle of the Brews, a contest that uses your votes to choose the very best brewery in NoVA. Lucky for us, there’s one more place to taste a cold one.

The Ashburn location of City Tap House at One Loudoun reopens today at 4 p.m. Social distancing is of the utmost importance to the team, which has properly spaced all furniture both inside and outside. There are sanitation stations at the entrance and throughout the eatery too. Besides requiring that guests wear masks when they’re not at their tables, the restaurant is also furnishing disposable hand coverings outside restrooms for safe door-opening.

Besides a stacked draft list, which ranges from local brews like Quayside Kolsch from Fair Winds Brewing Company of Lorton to Guinness, there are also 30-plus bottles and cans from which to choose. What about cooling down with a cocktail? The Smoked Peach Paloma features Del Maguey Vida mezcal, peach puree, lime juice and grapefruit-flavored Q sparkling water, or you can spike your choice of fruit juice for a lower-calorie, customized tipple.

The dinner menu, served Wednesday through Sunday, is limited for now, but still offers global temptations. Starters include Mexican street corn dip and pretzels with Southern-style pimento cheese. Tandoori chicken kebabs, shrimp and grits, and Korean beef short rib fried rice are among the entrees. But honestly, we’re just thinking of how each of those will go with one of our favorite brews. And we can enjoy knowing that we’ll be safe in the process. // 20376 Exchange St.,
