Arlington Pizzeria Named One of the Top 50 in the U.S.

This is the third time in the last four years that A Modo Mio has made the list.

Turns out you don’t have to go all the way to Italy for an authentic slice of pizza. Take a drive to Arlington instead. There, you’ll find A Modo Mio, which was once again named to an annual list of the Top 50 Pizzas in the U.S. The listing is compiled by the international website 50toppizza.

The Italian restaurant landed at No. 37 on the 2026 list. It ranked No. 32 on last year’s list and No. 48 on the 2023 list.

A Modo Mio posted about the ranking on social media, saying they are honored to be the only Virginia and DC pizzeria named to the list. “Thank you to the organizers, our staff, and all of our patrons for making this possible,” they said. “We are looking forward to achieving even more in the coming year!”

A Family Pizza Affair

The Farruggio family first opened A Modo Mio in 1978. They settled in Northern Virginia after immigrating from Agrigento, Italy.

Led by chef Antonio Biglietto, the restaurant is best known for its Neapolitan pizza, which incorporates classic Neapolitan methods of preparing and cooking the pizza in order to create an authentic Italian taste.

The award-winning pizzas, which were named one of the 18 Best Pizzerias in Northern Virginia, are baked in the restaurant’s custom-made, hand-built brick oven from Italy.

And the Italian spot isn’t just serving pizza. Its menu also features pastas, ribeye steak, salmon, seabass, and a selection of antipasti.

A Modo Mio is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
