If you love the pizza at A Modo Mio in Arlington, a guide to pizza agrees with you, ranking it No. 48 on a list of the 50 best in the U.S.

The site, 50 Top Pizza, an Italian-based media company that bills itself as the “guide to the best pizzerias in the world,” announced the rankings in late June. The rankings are done anonymously. “The criteria for assessment include factors which ensure the wellbeing of the client on the whole, beginning from the most essential, the quality of the products used,” the guide said.

Here’s what the guide said about A Modo Mio on Langston Boulevard:

“The Farruggio family, who arrived here from Agrigento in the 1970s, have been involved in the restaurant business ever since. It offers an authentically Italian menu also in the way the menu is divided. They support the idea of sitting at the table on working days and for Sunday lunch, for an Italian meal without any local contaminations. The Neapolitan-style pizza is spread out thin and has a soft crust, topped in classic way and baked in a wood-fired oven that was proudly designed in Naples. There is also a selection of pasta that includes spaghetti. The salads and soups reference traditional recipes of Italian taverns. You will also find wine served by the glass. The management is carried out in a friendly manner which also reflects the atmosphere in the dining room.“

Ranked No. 1 on the list was Una Pizza Napoletana in New York, followed by Razza Pizza Artigianale in Jersey City, New Jersey, and Ken’s Artisan Pizza in Portland, Oregon.

The only other DMV pizza places on the list were Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana in Darnestown, Maryland, which ranked No. 23, and Slice & Pie in Washington, DC, which ranked No. 41.
