On July 14, New York City eatery Westville opens its newest location in Clarendon. Known for seasonal fare and a vibrant atmosphere, the chain’s expansion into Virginia marks a new chapter for the brand.
“We’re a casual neighborhood restaurant with simple American food,” says Westville founder Jay Strauss. “All the choices we’ve made are made with care and thought. There’s something for everyone.”
Founded in 2003, Westville carved out a niche in the New York food scene by elevating everyday ingredients into healthy, vegetable-forward plates. The Clarendon outpost brings the same spirit to Northern Virginia.
In addition to the food, it will offer a curated beverage list including Virginia-made wines and local small-batch beers, as well as seasonal cocktails like strawberry Aperol spritz, prosecco mint lemonade, and a blood orange paloma. Nonalcoholic options include a carrot ginger shrub.

Veggie-Forward Menu
Diners can get their vegetable fix at this new eatery. Westville offers a signature market plate — a customizable combo of daily-prepared vegetable sides. Options include green beans with soy glaze, pesto mashed potatoes, and asparagus with parmesan. For meals at brunch, lunch, and dinner, up to 21 veggie options rotate throughout the week, depending on what’s in season.

“My idea was to make a veggie-forward restaurant and focus on as many vegetables as we can figure out how to make a day, and let people choose,” says Strauss.
However, Westville’s menu offers much more than vegetables. It also includes char-grilled burgers, hearty salads, veggie chili, smoky mac n’ cheese, and truffle parmesan fries. Desserts include gluten-free chocolate molten cake, classic carrot cake, and house-made apple pie.
Westville Clarendon will be open for lunch and dinner on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Weekend brunch is available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
