Clarity to Host Fundraiser for Restaurant Group Impacted by Hurricane Helene

Katie Button Restaurants, based in Asheville, North Carolina, is struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Here’s how you can help.

When Hurricane Helene swept through North Carolina, it left many businesses and residents struggling to recover from the extensive flooding and property damage it caused. Clarity, a modern American restaurant in Vienna, is offering a chance to help support one such business with a fundraiser event scheduled for October 29.

The fundraiser will benefit Katie Button Restaurants, an Asheville-based restaurant group with concepts including Cúrate and La Bodega by Cúrate. Since the storm, the company has been working to provide relief efforts to others through the World Central Kitchen. At the same time, it had to halt its operations due to water infrastructure damage in Asheville, North Carolina, a news release from Clarity said.

To provide financial support for the company’s staff — 130 hourly employees, plus salaried staff — Clarity will host a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception.

“We’re incredibly moved by the resilience of Katie Button and her team, but now they need our support,” said Tracy O’Grady, executive chef at Clarity. “This is more than just an event; it’s a chance for our community to come together and stand in solidarity with our friends in Asheville who have always been there to help others.”

The event will feature food and drink from NoVA-area chefs O’Grady, Oksana Chepoy, Kate Jansen, and Patrick and Julie Bazin.

The fundraiser will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on October 29 at Clarity. Guests are asked to provide a minimum donation of $100 to attend, with checks made out to Katie Button Restaurants. All proceeds will go to the restaurant group.
