Alexandria Restaurant Week To-Go adds one-person meals

Solo diners can now enjoy the restaurant promotion, too.

By Alice Levitt January 13, 2021 at 11:19 am

When Alexandria Restaurant Week was rechristened Alexandria Restaurant Week To-Go last summer, meals were sized for two people. But the organizers at Visit Alexandria have realized that there are plenty of people who live and eat alone. When their winter Restaurant Week takes place from Jan. 22 to Feb. 7 it will include $25 takeout dinners for one as well as the $49 meals for two.

What else is new? First-time participants include Aldo’s Italian Kitchen, dog-friendly bar Barkhaus, Pasara Thai, and The Alexandrian hotel’s Southern-inflected King & Rye. In total, there are more than 60 restaurants participating, all offering prix-fixe takeout meals. Though not every restaurant is offering the single meal option, the Restaurant Week web page allows diners to sort by meal size, making it easy to see which ones are catering for one.
