Alexandria Restaurant Week Is All To-Go This Year

The team behind Alexandria Restaurant Week has switched focuses for the summer of 2020. This time, dinner will be takeout, delivery or curbside pickup.

There’s no question that restaurants can use a boost right now, but there’s also little doubt that it’s because many potential diners aren’t ready to eat out yet.

The team behind Alexandria Restaurant Week has a plan that will help both parties: This summer, Restaurant Week will be focused on takeout food.

For 10 days and two weekends, running from Friday, Aug. 21 to Sunday, Aug. 30, more than 60 restaurants in Alexandria will offer a $49 takeout, curbside pickup or delivery dinner special for two. Yes, you don’t have to leave the house to participate in Restaurant Week this year. Restaurants offering delivery include Chadwicks, Laporta’s Restaurant, Ramparts, RT’s Restaurant, Ruz Uz and The Wharf, meaning you can have a fabulous meal in your pajamas this year as well.

Of course, that’s not the only thing that’s new. Each year, restaurants that have recently opened or haven’t participated before are a part of the festivities, and despite the pandemic, this time is no different. New participants include Taqueria Picoso, Glory Days Grill, The Light Horse, Michael’s Little Italy, Sweet Fire Donna’s and Mount Vernon Inn.

It’s also possible to get a meal with wine and beer included in the package this year. Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Restaurant and Bar, Haute Dogs & Fries and Bugsy’s Pizza Restaurant all serve wine as part of the deal. Wine or beer are included in meal packages from Pork Barrel BBQ and Rus Uz as well.

Get ready to support your favorite restaurants with minimal risk. The businesses will thank you for it—and so will your taste buds.
