Looking for something to serve guests for the High Holy Days? These area delis and grocery stores have your back.

By Maggie Roth September 17, 2025 at 3:12 pm

For those celebrating Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, many area delis, caterers, and grocery stores offer prepared meals to help ease some of the stress of preparing for the holidays.

Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, begins at sunset on September 22 and ends at sunset on September 24. It’s followed by Yom Kippur, a Day of Atonement that comes with a 25-hour fast. Yom Kippur begins at sunset on October 1 and ends at sunset on October 2.

With these holiday menus from around NoVA, you can get sweet bites like apples with honey to beckon in a sweet new year during Rosh Hashana, and order ahead for a meal to break your fast at the end of Yom Kippur.
