Cowboy culture and line dancing are all the rage. Now, you can join the trend at Desert 5 Spot, the new Western-themed bar in DC.

The Western bar, which has locations in New York and Los Angeles, officially its DC location on September 5. Located in Union Market, the two-story bar features desert-inspired interiors, two stages for live entertainment, a mechanical bull, and a rooftop terrace cactus garden.

“Desert 5 Spot has always been about great live country music, strong drinks, and zero pretense — just a place where friends can meet and have a good time,” said Dan Daley, managing partner at Ten Five Hospitality, in a recent press release. “We’re excited to bring D5 to DC, a city with a vibrant dining and nightlife scene, and to add something fresh and unique to the mix.”

The design is not where the Western influences stop. The bar’s craft cocktails are also inspired by country classics like the Ring of Fire, made with mezcal, Ancho Reyes, prickly pear, and lime. Another is the Jolene, a mix of tequila, strawberry, watermelon, and lime. Pair your drinks with hearty sides, brisket, hot chicken sandwiches, and other barbecued meats.

Management also asks patrons to follow the “Cowboy Dress Code” and leave the athleisure gear and flip flops at home.

Starting Wednesday, September 10, Desert 5 Spot will begin hosting live-band Cowboy Karaoke every Wednesday. The entertainment venue will also host Bluegrass Brunch and line dancing every Sunday.

Desert 5 Spot is open from 5:30 p.m. to close Wednesdays through Saturdays (with dinner served until 10 p.m.) and 11 a.m. to close on Sundays (with dinner served 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.). 400 Morse St. NE, Washington, DC
