NoVA’s Popular Thai Food and Culture Festival Is Expanding Again

Visit the new market in Annandale for tasty Thai bites and cultural fun.

Last year, we wrote about the NVA Thai Street Food & Cultural Festival, the region’s best event for passionate fans of Southeast Asian cuisine. What started at Wat Yarnna Rangsee Buddhist Monastery in Sterling with just a few vendors had ballooned to include a second location in Manassas with around 40 purveyors of Thai cuisine.

Now, NVA Thai Center has announced that it’s getting even bigger. On Sunday, May 11, the event team will launch its second big market with a soft opening at the Eileen Civic Space in Annandale. The new monthly market is already slated to take place through December.

As at the Manassas location, the Annandale market will include not just food, but also souvenirs from the homeland and onstage performances.

But for Thai food lovers, next weekend may be most exciting of all. On Saturday, May 17, the center will host its biggest event of the year at One Loudoun in Ashburn. This annual Loudoun County event will include victuals and crafts from more than 60 businesses.

At each of the events, entry and parking are free, and pets are allowed to roam the aisles of vendors and watch the performances with the whole family.

Pro tip: Get there as close to the 10 a.m. opening as possible, even if it feels early for curry and satay. The high demand for delicious meals means that your favorite may sell out fast.
