The Spot on Mill Street in Occoquan Closes December 24

Fans of the neighborhood restaurant can visit the second location, The Spot at Belmont Bay.

The Spot on Mill Street will officially be closing after December 24, the Occoquan restaurant announced.

But fans of the restaurant can still get their fill at the second location, The Spot at Belmont Bay, which is now open in Woodbridge. The new restaurant is located at 551 Harbor Side St., Woodbridge.

The original Spot on Mill Street has been a staple in downtown Occoquan for years, serving up coffee and pastries in the morning and hearty entrees and drinks in the evenings. It appeared on Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best of NoVA lists in 2021 and 2023 as the Best Coffeehouse and has been named to the Best Pet Care list in the Pet Friendly Drinking & Dining category.

The Occoquan location will be open through December 24, then there will be a final party on December 25. The party is $50 per person, with bottomless drinks included. “We can’t take our bar goodies with us,” The Spot said in a Facebook post. “So you get to enjoy yourselves with all of our top shelf spirits!”

Until The Spot on Mill Street officially closes, wines will be 50 percent off.

Over at Belmont Bay, the newer location hosts regular events like Bingo on Mondays, live music Tuesdays, and Thursday trivia nights. There are also monthly wine and dinner pairings (hosted on a boat in the summer months), a wine club and a bourbon club, and happy hour on weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m.

And, with a larger kitchen in the new space, the team at Belmont Bay is able to make even more tasty menu items. The menu here features sandwiches like a French dip and a chicken Philly, soups and salads, coffee, breakfast items, and more.
