Fish Taco Chain Looks to Expand in Northern Virginia

The Maryland-based restaurant has plans for a new space in Falls Church and may be eyeing even more NoVA locations.

Northern Virginia will soon have one more taco restaurant, and there are even more on the horizon. Fish Taco, a Maryland-based chain of taquerias, will open a new location in Falls Church next year, with the goal to expand even more into NoVA in the future, The Washington Business Journal reported.

Fish Taco currently has one Virginia location in The Boro at Tysons and three in Maryland. It specializes in “Baja-style” food, with tacos, rice bowls, burritos, and more. Like the name suggests, there are plenty of seafood options, in addition to chicken, steak, and veggies.

The new space is set to open in summer 2025, the website says, at 109 Founders Ave., Falls Church. That’s in the Founders Row area, where existing dining options include Ellie Bird, Seoul Prime, NUE, and Semicolon Cafe.

And, though there are currently no concrete plans for other locations, Fish Taco is looking for opportunities in NoVA areas like Ashburn, Chantilly, Fairfax, Leesburg, and Reston, WBJ reports.
