3 Fairfax County Farmers Markets to Extend Season into December

Usually wrapping up this time of the year, these locations will now provide fresh produce into the final weeks of the year.

By Michele Kettner November 12, 2024 at 10:20 am

As we approach the end of the year, many area farmers markets are beginning to close for the season. This year, three Fairfax County Park Authority farmers market locations will be extending their season into December.

The Reston, McCutcheon/Mount Vernon, and Burke markets will now be closing various dates in December:

Reston Farmers Market

Through December 7, 8 a.m. to noon

Lake Anne Village Center: 1609-A Washington Plz., Reston

McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Farmers Market

Through December 18, 8 a.m. to noon

Sherwood Library: 2501 Sherwood Hall Ln., Alexandria

Burke Farmers Market

Through December 2, 8 a.m. to noon

VRE Parking Lot: 5671 Roberts Pkwy., Burke

The Fairfax County Park Authority operates 10 markets throughout the county. As producer-only markets, all vendors can only sell what they raise on their farm or make from scratch.

The three locations are also accepting donations for the holiday season. Shoppers can purchase extra produce from the vendors and drop it off at the market information tent. Donations will be distributed to local food pantries. McCutcheon/Mount Vernon will be accepting donations on November 20, while Reston and Burke will be accepting donations on November 23. Only fresh produce from the individual markets will be accepted.
