These 5 NoVA and DC Food Flights Bring Relief for Indecisive Eaters

You’ve heard of beer and wine flights. Now, these restaurants and bakeries are redefining the concept.

Too many good items on the menu? Order a flight, and you can try a little of everything. From cheesecake to coffee to cobbler, these five NoVA and Washington, DC, spots are offering up sample selections of their finest flavors.

Buford’s Biscuits

Biscuits are the fluffy vehicle for delicious spreads. At Buford’s Biscuits, you can enjoy different flavors of all three. Buford’s Biscuits serves cathead biscuits, a Southern staple named for being as large as a cat’s head.

The restaurant offers gravy, butter, and jam flights to accompany its cathead biscuits. The gravy flight is a twist on the classic biscuits and gravy with samples of mushroom, chipped beef, and sausage gravy. The butter flight includes maple, honey, and molasses butter, and the jam flight features seasonal flavors. 7 W. Market St., Leesburg

Cheesecake Bean

This Ashburn-based business specializes in one delectable dessert. In May, Cheesecake Bean was ranked as the sixth best bakery in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, by Dessert Wars, the largest dessert festival in the U.S. Cheesecake Bean offers a flight of four mini cheesecakes. For flavors, you can choose from mango, New York–style, blueberry, Nutella, pista and cardamom, saffron, lavender, rose, and Reese’s peanut butter.

Please note: Cheesecake Bean does not have a storefront, so you’d taste this flight at home. Order online for pickup or delivery. Allow 48 hours for your order to be prepared. 21071 Mossy Glen Terr., Ashburn

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

At Jeni’s, there’s no such thing as too many scoops of ice cream. This 10-scoop flight allows you to try a range of the Ohio-based chain’s signature flavors, including Blackout Chocolate Cake, Brambleberry Crisp, Wildberry Lavender, and Coffee with Cream & Sugar. Make sure to bring your friends (and maybe the friends of your friends) to avoid a brain freeze while eating this flight. Multiple area locations

Loud’n Roasted Coffee Roasters

There’s no better way to jumpstart your day than with four different coffees. This month Loud’n Roasted’s coffee flight flavors are white chocolate caramel nitro, tuxedo nitro, vanilla twist latte, and blackberry crumble latte.

Loud’n Roasted is located inside Megabytes Eatery, a video game-inspired breakfast and lunch spot. A Loud’n Roasted coffee pairs perfectly with a Megabytes Eatery breakfast sandwich or wrap. 14100 Sullyfield Cir., Ste. 100, Chantilly

The Peach Cobbler Factory

Fruit and chocolate lovers can both find their perfect sweet treat at The Peach Cobbler Factory. The chain bakery, now with a location in DC, serves up dessert flights of any four cobblers or puddings. The Peach Cobbler Factory has a variety of fresh fruit cobblers, including honey apple, strawberry peach, and cinnamon peach praline. If you’re in the mood for a decadence, try The Peach Cobbler Factory’s banana puddings. Flavors include Butterfinger, chocolate chocolate chip, and red velvet. The shop also offers cookies and cinnamon rolls. 1010 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Ste. 100, Washington, DC
