Easter is right around the corner, which means that soon you and the kids will be hunting for eggs, buying new spring dresses and gobbling up all of the Cadbury chocolates you can. It also means that Cadbury is looking for its next Easter Bunny.
The company’s annual quest to find Cadbury’s Next Clucking Bunny through “bunny tryouts” has a local contestant this year. Herndon cat Eggbert has been named a top 10 finalist in the competition, and the contest is now in the public’s hands.
Eggbert, a rescue cat that cannot use his hind legs due to contracting meningitis as a kitten, is a member of the Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation, which focuses on kittens that need advanced medical care that shelters and rescues cannot provide.
Although Eggbert has paresis in two of his legs, he is still active and wil drag himself around the house to play all day with his toys.
Voting is now live through Wednesday, March 18 and the polls can be found here. Local voters can learn more about Eggbert on his profile.
The winner of the contest, which will be announced on Tuesday, March 24, will be in this year’s Cadbury Clucking Bunny Easter commercial and will receive $5,000. Cadbury will also donate $10,000 to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
