Music fans take note. Following the success of its weekly summer concert series, the Reston Town Center (RTC) is planning a free Rocktoberfest concert on October 11. And the popular band Smash Mouth will headline the event.
The concert is planned as another RTC “Sip & Stroll” event where guests can purchase drinks at nine participating restaurants and bring it to the concert. Sip & Stroll will start at 4:30 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. (Patrons may not bring their own alcohol to this or any RTC event.)
The show starts in the RTC pavilion with DC cover band keeton at 5 p.m., followed by rock band Ace Monroe at 6:45 p.m. Smash Mouth will begin at 8:30 p.m. The band is best known for its hits including “I’m a Believer,” “Walkin’ on the Sun,” and “All-Star.”
A week prior to the concert, Rocktoberfest will kick off with a special 25th anniversary screening of the movie Shrek. It will be shown in the RTC pavilion on Friday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Free garage parking is available for both events, and you can bring your own chair. Check the website for weather delays and other event information.
