Updated January 26, 2022. While getting your child’s haircut can be a precious moment, it can also be very hectic and emotional for your kids. Make the process that much easier by booking your little one’s next haircut at one of these kid-friendly salons.

Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids

Youngsters can choose to sit in Lightning McQueen, a Frozen-themed Jeep, a NASCAR race car, and more while a dedicated tween lounge with video games and satellite TV keeps the older crowd happy. Little clients love their loot of Sharkey dollars, bookmarks, balloons, and lollipops upon haircut completion. Appointments can be booked online. 8971 Ox Rd., Ste. 170, Lorton

Cartoon Cuts

The colorful environment of Cartoon Cuts helps to lighten the potentially tense mood and every haircut station includes a personal screen stocked with a large selection of popular kid’s DVDs. Clients can also bring their favorites. Expect the experience to begin with a shampoo in the signature Ellie the Elephant sink and end with a lollipop and temporary tattoo. For parents, Cartoon Cuts participates in a loyalty card program and offers discounts for siblings. Multiple locations in Fairfax and Springfield

Mini-Me Salon

While waiting for their haircut, kids can get their wiggles out in Mini-Me’s indoor play area. Offering interactive car chairs, TV screens, and handheld electronic devices, the salon boasts that “boredom is non-existent.” From beginning to end, children stay entertained and parents leave with hair no longer hiding their child’s face. 3940 Plank Rd., Ste. G, Fredericksburg

Sweet and Sassy

This salon not only specializes in girls’ and boys’ haircuts, braiding, and up-dos, but also offers fun spa services such as mini-manis and pedis, ear piercings, and birthday party possibilities—which could include arriving to the salon in a hot pink limo. Each haircut includes access to TV screens and lollipops. 1601 Village Market Blvd. SE, Ste. 124, Leesburg
