Police arrested four people and took a substantial amount of drugs off the streets — including 66,000 doses of fentanyl — during a coordinated effort earlier this week.
While conducting a search warrant at a home in Manassas, authorities seized the following:
- 66,000 fentanyl pills;
- 2,300 grams of marijuana;
- 40 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms;
- 142 grams of cocaine;
- 6 firearms;
- $40,000 in high-end jewelry;
- $6,500 in cash.
Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid drug that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine, has been a problem in NoVA over the last several years, with several high school students dying of overdoses.
Manassas City Police Department detectives worked with Prince William County’s vice narcotics task force and its street crimes unit, as well as the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to make four arrests and execute the search warrant on Tuesday.
Authorities did not indicate the street value of the drugs, but did say their investigation is ongoing.
The four have been charged with a multiple offenses, including distribution of narcotics, possession of narcotics while in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of a stolen firearm.
