Scott Thuman will be 7News/WJLA-TV’s newest evening anchor, starting January 23 when the station debuts its new state-of-the-art studio.
Thuman, who has been Sinclair Broadcast Group’s chief political correspondent, will join fellow anchor Michelle Marsh.
“Scott’s nearly 20 years at WJLA, in the DC Market, as a Reporter, Anchor and Senior Political Reporter have more than prepared him to take this role. We are fortunate to have his years of wisdom, dedication to our communities, and overall outstanding team player approach now on our anchor desk every night,” said 7News Director Cheryl Carson.
The Emmy Award–winning journalist will continue as WJLA’s chief political correspondent during this election year, and will to continue to cover world affairs on the nationally syndicated show, Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson.
WJLA 7News Vice President and General Manager Todd Bernstein said Thuman will be an important part of all of the station’s platforms. “He will be a huge asset to keeping our viewers and followers informed with fair, in-depth reporting.”
Thuman, who is getting married this week in Northern Virginia, is a Fairfax native.
