For 45 years, Northern Virginians looking for new home decor, the perfect gift for their loved ones and products made by local artisans have flocked to the Sugarloaf Craft Festivals, held in Chantilly, as well as Gaithersburg, Maryland and Timonium, Maryland.
But, due to the current pandemic’s effect on the economy, the Sugarloaf Craft Festival is closing down. The Sugarloaf Craft Festivals’ website currently reads, “Unfortunately, the global pandemic sparking cancellations of large public gatherings makes it impossible for our business to continue. Our exhibitors have not done a show since early March and are not signing up for future shows due to the uncertainty of when or if shows will be allowed to operate. With no cash flow coming in, even a well-managed company cannot survive indefinitely. Sadly, today we must announce that Sugarloaf Craft Festivals will close.”
Fans of the jewelry, high-end art, handmade products and more that could be found at Sugarloaf Craft Festivals are still able to find the artists and makers whose products they love by visiting the website’s artist directory here.
