Whether you’re looking for some lighthearted comedy or to learn something new about history, there’s sure to be something to pique your interest.

Fairfax-born Jason Sudeikis resumes his starring role as the unfailingly optimistic (if inexperienced) soccer coach in the highly anticipated third season of this award-winning drama-comedy.

BOOK

Learn the history of NFL players’ fight for fair treatment through the words of the late Ed Garvey, the executive director for the NFL Players Association in the years following their unionization, edited by Reston-based journalist Chuck Cascio.

BOOK

Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn

When the protagonist of this contemporary romance novel leaves her job as a personal assistant in LA to move back to her small Virginia hometown, she begins a journey of self-discovery and an unexpected love story.

TV SHOW

Lopez vs. Lopez

This family-focused sitcom follows a father and his formerly estranged daughter as they attempt to rebuild their relationship while navigating generational differences. It features Aparna Nancherla, a comedian from Fairfax.

BOOK

Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano

In the third installment of this mystery thriller series, NoVA-based protagonist Finlay Donovan — an author, single mom, and accidental hitwoman — faces pressure from mobsters as she deals with the fallout from her misadventures.
