DC’s Triple Crown Polo Tournament Returns to the National Mall

This year’s 8th Annual District Cup is part of the America250 celebrations.

The National Mall hosts a wide array of events. And this June, Polo on the Mall returns. The 8th Annual District Cup will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Held at West Potomac Park, this year’s charity polo tournament will bring together six national polo teams. They will compete for Washington’s Polo Triple Crown — the Washington Cup, Cultural Polo Cup, and District Cup Trophy — as part of the America250 celebrations.

“We are thrilled to continue the proud tradition of Polo on the National Mall and deepen the impact of our Polo scholarship program,” Dario Sotomayor, co-founder of The District Cup, said in a release. “As our nation celebrates 250 years of history and progress, we are more excited than ever to carry that mission forward.”

This year’s theme is The World Rides to The Mall: Passport Celebrates America’s 250th. The event will take guests on a journey around the globe without leaving DC. In addition to an afternoon full of polo competitions, the tournament will include live concert performances, a halftime divot stomp, and other curated experiences throughout the day.

Polo Passport general admission tickets are $165. They include access to the tournament and its events and all-inclusive food, beer, and wine. Tickets with sponsorship opportunities are also available. West Potomac Park Field No. 4: 3-690 Ohio Dr. SW, Washington, DC
