7 Adult Indoor Activities Perfect for Your Next Group Outing

These indoor venues will help get you out and about and having fun, no matter the weather.

These adult indoor activities in Northern Virginia are perfect for an evening of fun with friends or a date night with your significant other.

The Escape Room at Tysons Corner

The first Virginia location of its kind, The Escape Room offers six different options to test your skills. The most challenging option is Prison Break, which has guests try and escape a 1950s-style prison. Large groups will find fun in the Playground, where you must finish your assignments before you can enjoy summer and some playtime. 1961 Chain Bridge Rd., Unit N9L, Tysons

Level99

Get some friends together to try this gaming venue that opened in August 2025. There are dozens of challenge rooms and duels to face off versus your most competitive friends. More than 50 installations by local artists adorn the walls, adding a community feel. If you’re famished post-gaming, Level99 sells cocktails, beer, Detroit-style pizza, and tasty burgers too. 1961 Chain Bridge Rd., Tysons

Continues Arcade

If you miss Chuck E. Cheese and ‘90s Pizza Huts, you’ll want to pay a visit to Continues Arcade. The venue has more than 50 original arcade cabinets, claw and pinball machines, and Skee-Ball too. The arcade sells food, from traditional fare like nachos and wings, to brunch dishes like waffles with strawberries. 1050 N. Fayette St., Alexandria

Escape Room Herndon

There are five escape room options to try at this Herndon place perfect for groups. Try a maritime themed room where you must outsmart pirate caption Ravensbeard or a Magician’s Workshop where guests are apprentices of Carter the Great, who is facing off against his archrival The Great Danton. 406 Elden St., Herndon

Break from Reality Escape Rooms

This woman-owned Fairfax space has multiple escape rooms to try, like a tongue-in-cheek Holiday Pop-Up where Santa is accused of running grandma over with his sleigh. There’s also a creepy Doomsday room, where you find yourself locked in an underground bunker that is now at risk of becoming where you’ll meet your demise. 11230 Waples Mill Rd., Ste. 110, Fairfax

Muse Paintbar

Paint and sips are always a great option for indoor activities. Muse Paintbar offers themed classes including an upcoming one featuring the Capitol Blossoms, a paint your pet night, and a paint your own Picasso portrait. Muse’s bar and kitchen are open for drinks and bites perfect for eating or sipping with one hand and holding a paint brush in the other. Multiple area locations

The Board Room

Not just a typical bar and brewery, The Board Room also has a sizeable board game library perfect for playing with a group of friends as you sip a beer. From Trivial Pursuit to Monopoly to throwbacks like Operation, there’s something for everyone. The Board Room also hosts Trivia Night every Tuesday. 925 N. Garfield St., Arlington
