Sometimes, you’re in the mood for an elaborate five-course meal. And sometimes, you’re in the mood for a cold martini and some hot fries. That’s especially the case around Galentine’s Day, when having a girl dinner with your girlfriends is just what the doctor ordered. To help you do just that, we’ve rounded up some of the best girl dinner spots (and specials) in and around Northern Virginia.
Dominion Wine and Beer
Fries and a glass of wine? Yes please. At this wine and beer store that doubles as a restaurant, get the perfectly fried Belgian-style pomme frites to go with your libations, and call it a night. 107 Rowell Ct., Falls Church
Paisano’s
At Paisano’s, you’ll always find great pizza. But from February 9 to 15, you can also turn any large, make-your-own pizza into one of the heart shaped variety — making it all the more delectable to look at (and eat) with your girlfriends. Try a hot honey pizza with a chicken caesar salad for the ultimate girl dinner. Multiple locations
Flight Wine Shop
This fabulous wine shop in Crystal City has a spectacular selection of not only wines, but also artisanal food items that you could put together to make a killer DIY charcuterie with your ladies. 269 19th Ct. S., Suite 90, Arlington
Santé
If you’re looking to feel fancy with your girlfriends, head over to the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City and have a seat at Santé. Try the Santé Trio of hummus, muhammara, and greek mint dip served with grilled pita and fresh vegetables. Add the halloumi citrus salad and a craft cocktail and you’re all set. 1250 S. Hayes St., Arlington
Taquería Xochi
We love a great bowl of chips and guac and some esquites alongside our margaritas for a girl dinner. And Taquería Xochi never disappoints on that front. For Galentine’s Day, the team is also offering the “No Drama Rita” as well as the Taco ‘bout Besties special, a heart-shaped taco platter with two margaritas for $50. 1450 S. Eads St., Suite 32, Arlington

Francis Hall
This speakeasy-style cocktail bar inside Hotel Heron makes some of the best drinks around, which are perfect paired with Francis Hall’s short but sweet snack menu. Of course, if you want a more robust girl dinner afterward, you could always head over to hotel restaurant Kiln for steak tartare and a kale salad. 699 Prince St., Alexandria
Immigrant Food
Immigrant Food, with its dim sum offerings, is the perfect setting for a great girl dinner. And from February 9 through 14, the restaurant offers a Galentine’s wine flight featuring a selection of wines from women-owned wineries. 4245 Fairfax Dr., Arlington
Schar Bar
You’ve not had popcorn until you’ve had the black truffle popcorn at Schar Bar. They also make a delightful martini with Ford’s gin, dry vermouth, orange bitters, and lemon oil. For Galentine’s Day, the bar is also doing food specials — notably a Caviar Crush. 11340 Reston Station Blvd., Reston
