Calling all Harry Potter fans! Now in its fourth year, the 2025 Wizard Weekend Culpeper will be held July 25 to 27. The whole town of Culpeper will be getting in on the act. You’ll find costume contests, food and drink specials, parody plays, divination tea parties, potions class tutorials, and more.
Harry Potter Weekend Logistics
This year’s event has been extended to three days. Out of town travelers can find list of hotels and rooms available for rent on Airbnb at Visit Culpepper’s website.
No tickets are needed for the overall event itself. Visit the websites of the participating stores and restaurants to find out the timings of their individual events and whether or not tickets are needed for specific activities.
This year, there will be a Wizard Weekend passport with accompanying stickers, which will help you keep track of all the fun activities and mark the ones you participated in.
Harry Potter Weekend Highlights
Don’t miss the delicious butterbeer floats at the Scoop. There will be three showings of Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone at the Windmore Center of the Arts, and an “enchanting display of mystical artifacts, special Artisan Pop-Ups, a Sound Garden by Soul Balance Solutions and scavenger hunt,” at the Culpeper Artisan Collective at PeaPod Atelier. Miss Minerva’s Tea Room will hosts two special wizard-themed afternoon teas. Collector’s Den will run Harry Potter trivia and wizard weekend potions workshops. You’re sure to love the “Three Broomsticks” theme at Lily Rose, as well as their photo booth and scavenger hunt.
Make sure to wear a costume and take your time to stop by all the small shops in downtown Culpeper. Many will be selling trinkets, stickers, and trading cards, as well as special treats like the ones sold at Honeydukes in the Harry Potter movie.
