Tee Up the Start of the Summer with the LIV Golf League

A June tournament will bring professional golf, family-friendly fun, and live music to Gainesville.

By Jamie Gholson May 29, 2025 at 8:28 am

The LIV Golf League is teeing up for the start of the summer with a tournament in Gainesville from June 6 to 8. LIV Golf League launched in 2021 as a rival to the PGA Tour. It was designed to “reinvigorate golf” and attract a larger, more diverse crowd with a new approach to the sport and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Gainesville’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Club will be LIV Golf League’s eighth stop on its worldwide tour this year. Some of the star players participating are professional golfers Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Phil Mickelson. Tournaments include 54 players and 13 teams playing over three days, beginning with a shotgun start.

The event has other entertainment elements outside of professional golf. LIV Golf League is also hosting a concert featuring American country artist Dylan Gossett at the course on June 7. The show takes place after golf and is open to all ticket holders. Dylan Gossett originally became famous when his song “Coal” went viral on TikTok. He has now gained traction on Spotify with 4.1 monthly listeners. This concert is the start of Gossett’s American Trail tour.

“At LIV Golf, we’re committed to delivering an unforgettable fan experience, and live music is a big part of that,” said Ross Hallett, LIV Golf’s EVP and head of events. “Dylan Gossett’s fantastic sound and energy will add another layer of excitement to an already action-packed weekend that fans won’t want to miss.”

The tournament will also offer family-friendly activities. The Fan Village offers all-day entertainment for children including a specialized kid zone. It will have interactive games like golf simulation, baseball, VR games, water dunk tanks, pickleball, arcade games, face painting, and soccer. Kids 12 and under get in free with a ticketed adult.

Plus, the event offers hospitality options with a variety of food, a party atmosphere, and views of the renowned course. Fanstand, found at the fourth hole, will have stadium-style views and party vibes. Birdie Shack is the place to go for a rooftop bar over the 14th tee with good music and food. Club 54, at the 18th hole, will have multi-course meals, cocktails, and a vantage point to watch the action.

This three-day activity is a great way to kick off the summer with friends and family for those interested in golf or a fun time.

Three-day grounds passes start at around $143 for adults, and kids get in free. Some hospitality options require additional fees.
