Step into Springtime at the ‘Blooming Wonders’ Exhibit

Immerse yourself with beautiful blooms at this limited-time event.

By Emily Sohl March 17, 2025 at 7:00 am

Lose yourself in a magical springtime world at ARTECHOUSE DC’s Blooming Wonders: A Best-of-Spring Exhibition. Now in its eighth year as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the limited-time exhibition highlights the fleeting magic of the season through cutting-edge technology and interactive art.

The main gallery transforms walls and floors into a cinematic journey through spring. Large-scale projections depict cherry blossoms in full bloom, flocks of butterflies fluttering through fields of flowers, and whirlwinds of petals sweeping across the space.

Visitors can explore multiple interactive installations, including a full-floor projection where cherry blossom trees bloom with each step. In another gallery, a garden features hanging plants that “sing” when touched. Other exhibits use light and sound to create shadow art and showcase ecological connections.

Stop by the XR Bar for a curated menu of seasonal cocktails and mocktails inspired by the cherry blossom life cycle. Drinks can be brought to life through Extended Reality activations using the ARTECHOUSE app.

A pioneer in experiential art, ARTECHOUSE blends art, science, and technology to create multi-sensory exhibitions. Since opening its first location in DC in 2015, the space has hosted a variety of themed installations.

Blooming Wonders runs through May 1. General admission starts at $24, and the exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
