Rep. Don Beyer Hosting Resource Fair for Federal Workers

The event is this Saturday at Wakefield High School. It will offer resources for unemployment, mental health support, and food assistance.

Rep. Don Beyer has announced that he is holding a resource fair for federal workers and contractors impacted by the recent downsizing of the federal government. This is the first in what Beyer said he hopes will be a series of events called “Rising to the Challenge,” he announced in a social media post.  

“It’s my hope that the various public and private resources available will help federal workers’ and contractors’ needs, answer your questions and concerns.  

I am organizing a resource fair to support federal workers and contractors on March 8th from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Wakefield High School in Arlington with information on federal workers’ rights, unemployment assistance, mental health support, housing information, and more. pic.twitter.com/3gZptFeJgW

The event is set for Saturday, March 8, at Wakefield High School in Arlington. It will run from noon to 5 p.m. 

Resources being offered include:  

  • Unemployment assistance 
  • Mental health support 
  • Housing information 
  • Food aid 
  • Information on federal workers’ rights 

There is a free shuttle that will bring attendees between the Ballston Metro station and Wakefield High School.  

This resource fair will be hosted in partnership with Arlington and Fairfax counties and Falls Church and Alexandria. In addition to the events, several localities have posted online resources for federal workers.
