Kid-Friendly Spots to Watch the Commanders Play on Sunday

Bring the kids along to watch the big game at these five family-friendly locations.

By Micahi Oppong January 23, 2025 at 2:48 pm

As the Washington Commanders get ready to play in their first NFC Championship game in over three decades, it’s fair to say this is the most excited fans have been in years. With the chance to punch their ticket to their first Superbowl appearance since their 1991 championship campaign, all eyes will be on the burgundy and gold — just don’t forget to keep your eyes on your kids, too. Here are five kid-friendly spots where fans young and old can cheer the Commanders to victory.

Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse

Cheer on the team with other Commander fans at Arlington Cinema. The theater will host a watch party on the big screen, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. Grab a drink and try something off the menu like the Pub Burger or a dessert for the kids. 2903 Columbia Pk., Arlington, free

Doyles Outpost

This spot is a must-visit, with tons of fun activities to keep the kids engaged during the game, including more than 40 classic arcade games with redeemable prizes, laser tag, and VR. Head to the sports bar and choose from a wide variety of food and drink options to ensure you’re fueled for a night full of entertainment for the entire family. 4620 Kenmore Ave., Alexandria

Odd BBQ

There’s nothing better than good old-fashioned barbeque and football. Odd BBQ and Ono Brewing Company, which share a space, are both open to kids. There are plenty of TVs so you don’t miss the action, plus board games to keep the kids occupied. Try one of the half-pound sandwiches or barbecue platters — there is also a kids menu for the little ones — and top it off with an ale or lager from Ono. 4520 Daly Dr., Chantilly

Port City Brewery

After recently celebrating its 14th anniversary, Port City is continuing the celebration by hosting a watch party that’s bound to be full of good energy. The Alexandria brewery is both kid-friendly and pet-friendly. Enjoy the action on a large screen projector in the indoor Beer Garden. Try the award-winning Optimal Wit beer, along with game-day specials from onsite taqueria La Tingeria to fill the family’s stomachs. 3950 Wheeler Ave., Alexandria, free

Up! Ultimate Adventure Park

This newly opened indoor adventure park is an exciting destination for little ones, regardless of the game. With tons of fun and physical activities, including 36 themed climbing walls, rope courses, slides, a zipline, and an arcade facility, there’s plenty to keep them busy. Enjoy the action in the parents’ lounge on the mezzanine level, with TVs and a café area with food and snacks. Here, you can watch the Commanders win in a space that’s safe and kid-friendly. 20051 Riverside Commons Plz., Ashburn, $31.95–$49.95
