Selena Gomez and Northern Virginia native Benny Blanco announced their engagement on December 11, with Gomez sharing a series of photos on Instagram.
“Forever begins now…” she wrote, accompanied by photos of her new engagement ring and a kiss from Blanco. Blanco’s cheeky comment, “Hey wait… that’s my wife,” added a personal touch to the big news.
While Gomez, a global superstar, and Blanco, a chart-topping producer, have captured worldwide attention, it’s Blanco’s Northern Virginia roots that make this romance even more special for NoVA fans.
Born Benjamin Joseph Levin in Reston, Benny Blanco grew up immersed in the area. Blanco attended Langston Hughes Middle School and South Lakes High School in Reston, where he began experimenting with beat-making in his bedroom.

Blanco’s career trajectory is an inspiring one: He started producing beats and recording his own vocals before eventually gaining the attention of big names in the industry.
His breakthrough moments came when he landed an apprenticeship with producer Disco D, which set him on the path to producing hits for the likes of Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, and more.
Blanco and Gomez started dating in June 2023, but they first met at least 16 years ago, Benny revealed in an April interview to SiriusXM Hits1.
