Peak fall foliage is right around the corner, and while you can experience the changing colors on the region’s nearby trails or at the waterfront, have you ever considered taking in the foliage from the treetops? Here are six treehouse rentals in Virginia that come with beautiful fall foliage views.

Trailside Treehouse 

You’ll feel like a kid again when you book a stay at this rental. Named one of the “Top 20 Places to Stay in VA” by Airbnb, the two-story treehouse not only features screened-in porch, hammock swings, kitchenette, lounge area with a TV, and bonfire space,  but also a wooden bridge, twisty tube slide, and playground equipment that are reminiscent of the treehouses you played in as a kid. Richmond, $277 per night, two-night minimum

VA Creeper Trail Treehouse 

Built by Treehouse Masters’ Pete Nelson, this two-story, one-bedroom treehouse combines the beauty of nature with convenient amenities. Make sure to enjoy your morning coffee on one of the two balconies and take in the views of the 104-acre property. Though a treehouse, the space includes electricity, running, water, a cell phone booster, and a gas fireplace to keep the rental warm through those colder nights. Abingdon, $248 per night, two-night minimum

Luxury Treehouse on Rivanna River 

Killer views of the poplar and sycamore trees are accessible from almost every inch of this treehouse rental. The patio on the ground level includes space for dining and a hot tub for a chance to warm up at night. Climb the spiral staircase to reach the front door and wrap-around porch. Once inside, you’ll notice the two-level space is full of windows to take in the beautiful fall foliage. Palmyra, $264 per night

Whether you’re looking for a couples retreat or a change in scenery for your remote job, this Leesburg rental does the job. The one-bedroom space, accessible by a steep spiral staircase, has a dedicated work area, full bathroom, kitchenette, and TV. But the main perk has to be the side deck with stunning views of the forest. Leesburg, $169 per night

Within the screen-in sitting area, open deck, and lower patio, overnight guests can find a hot tub, hanging rope chairs, and swinging play forts. Also, at the bottom of the stairs, find a fire pit with more than enough seating. Inside, you can enjoy wifi, a TV, gas fireplace, and more. Shenandoah, $261 per night, with a minimum two-night stay

Find another Treehouse Masters creation in Lynchburg. If you’re celebrating an anniversary or another special occasion, this treehouse makes the perfect weekend getaway. Walk up the lighted staircase into the living room, fitted with a seating area, TV, and fireplace. Upstairs, the bedroom hosts a full wardrobe, French doors overlooking the property, and a clawfoot bathtub. Lynchburg, $327 per night
