From sprawling estates to high-rise penthouses, Northern Virginia has no shortage of extravagant real estate, chock-full of lavish amenities and jaw-dropping curb appeal. Of course, luxury properties come with luxury price tags. According to Homes.com, these are the 10 most expensive homes sold in the Northern Virginia market in July.
$5.5 million: 8334 Alvord St., McLean
This French Chateau-style house has six bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, plus an additional three full and two half bathrooms. Outside, there’s an outdoor kitchen overlooking the 53-foot-long saltwater pool, a pool house, a waterfall on the lot, and a formal English garden. For indoor entertainment, there’s a home gym, a sauna, a home theater, a library, and a game room. In total, it spans 13,258 square feet, but don’t worry, there’s an elevator to help navigate the area.
$4.76 million: 6821 Weberly Wy., McLean
This brand new, modern McLean home is a build by Buchanan Price and Foster Zimmerman Architecture. There are beamed cathedral ceilings that make the space open and airy, and dramatic lighting features that give it an ultra-modern edge. It’s 7,627 square feet, with five bedrooms, six full and two half bathrooms, and four fireplaces.
$4.1 million: 39881 Snickersville Tpk., Middleburg
Property is the name of the game for this home. The house sits on a whopping 80 acres of land, so the back patio has built-in views of rolling hills and a serene lake. The inside isn’t too shabby, either, with a French country style that shines through in the high ceilings and French doors. There are five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms, for a total of 7,547 square feet. Oh, did we mention the pool and the two-bedroom guest house and apartment?
$3.9 million: 601 N. Fairfax St., Ste. 609, Alexandria
This glamorous Old Town penthouse offers stunning views of the Potomac River both from the terrace – all 868 square feet of it – and through the floor-to-ceiling windows that surround the living space. There are three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. The 3,175-square-foot interior has 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and a gas fireplace set right up against the stunning view. $3.8 million: 7327 Georgetown Pk., McLean

The lower level features a wet bar and a home gym, and there’s a separate in-law suite with a bedroom and full bathroom to offer guests a private place to stay.
$2.91 million: 10504 Patrician Woods Ct., Great Falls
You’ll find plenty of luxury in this all-brick home that sits on 1.8 acres. The house has 8,630 square feet of space, with five bedrooms and six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. The home has a conservatory, a theater room, and a library. There’s a pool house out back with an outdoor kitchen, overlooking the heated pool and resurfaced sport court. There’s also a tennis court.
