Two men were shot dead and two juveniles were stabbed at a Fairfax County apartment complex near Falls Church on Monday.
Fairfax County police said calls for the double homicide in the 2200 block of Pimmit Run Lane started coming in around 3:30 p.m. after a group had met.
Fairfax County Deputy Chief Eli Cory said responding officers found two men suffering gunshot wounds when they arrived.
Cory said one man was discovered dead in an apartment laundry room. The second man was located in the parking lot and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Two juveniles were also found stabbed at the scene. They were taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition, Cory said. No other information about them was provided.
“What we do know is that several of the people, all the people involved, met up here for a specific reason,” Cory said during a Monday news briefing, adding that authorities don’t know what that reason is yet. “But we’re interviewing people to figure that out.”
Cory said some of the people who met were from outside Fairfax County.
“We’re not sure what brought them all together, but we did find a backpack was filled with narcotics,” Cory said.
One stabbing victim was from Loudoun County, according to Cory. Other locations that may have been involved, as well as the relationships between the victims, are still being investigated. Police are also working to determine who the perpetrators were.
Cory said a knife was found at the Pimmit Run Lane scene, “and we’re still looking for other weapons.”
Police are not ruling out that the incident was part of a drug deal.
