Kings Dominion is requiring children 15 or younger to be accompanied by an adult after 4 p.m.
The amusement park in Doswell announced the policy change last week; it went into effect Saturday.
Kings Dominion said the move was in response to “increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior across our industry and at other major entertainment venues.”
Anyone 15 or younger has to be accompanied by someone over 21 in order to enter or stay at the park after 4 p.m. The chaperone can accompany up to 10 people, and has to show an ID when the group enters the park.
The chaperone requirement is added to the park’s code of conduct, which specifies other behaviors that are and aren’t permitted.
“We believe these changes will help ensure that Kings Dominion continues to have a positive atmosphere where generations of families and friends can gather for a day of safe fun and good food,” the park said in a statement. “Millions of guests have counted on us for exactly that, and we will continue to deliver on that promise for generations to come.”
