The Magical World of Harry Potter Is Heading to Leesburg This Fall

Welcome to the Forbidden Forest.

By Haley Huchler July 27, 2022 at 4:21 pm

You might be familiar with Morven Park’s annual holiday light show. Now, the park will play host with another spectacular display of lights, but it’s not a winter wonderland. It’s a tribute to the fantastic wizarding world of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience will be a magical journey for any Harry Potter fan, young or old. Inspired by the Forbidden Forest of the Harry Potter world, the woodland trail experience in this Leesburg park will take guests through a path of magical creatures and wizarding wonders from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. Sounds, lights, and special effects will bring this world to life. After traveling down the trail, guests can enjoy food and drinks in the themed village. There will also be an on-site shop where fans can buy all the merchandise they please.

Created by award-winning theatrical designers and experiential creators, the experience has already had a massively popular run in the United Kingdom and now brings that Harry Potter magic to American fans, making its debut in Northern Virginia.

Tickets for the event go on sale Thursday, July 28th at 11 a.m. The event will open for the season on October 29, with multiple sessions available daily. Ticket prices start at $25 for children and $36 for adults.

The walking trail takes about 45 to 75 minutes to complete, but visitors should allow more time so they can stroll at their own pace and explore the village afterwards. All ages are welcome, although it’s recommended that children 12 and under be accompanied by an adult. It is recommended to dress warmly and wear suitable shoes for walking on a trail outdoors.

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is in partnership with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit that aims to help the environment through tree-planting. Guests can choose to make a donation of $1 to plant a tree within One Tree Planted’s projects.
