Here’s Where You Can Play Pickleball in Northern Virginia

Whether you want to play indoors or outdoors, these parks and recreation centers have the perfect setup for your next pickleball match.

By Michele Kettner July 15, 2022 at 3:54 pm

Pickleball has been taking the country by storm and it’s easy to understand why. Combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, the sport is easy to follow and loads of fun no matter your age or ability. If you’re looking to try your hand at pickleball, head to these dedicated courts around the region.

Pickleballerz

No matter the weather, you can enjoy an intense game of pickleball at this indoor facility. The region’s first indoor facility dedicated to pickleball features six indoor courts that you can book morning, noon, or night. In addition to free play, Pickleballerz also offers a variety of lessons and clinics for beginners, and hosts different leagues and tournaments for those that catch the pickleball bug. 14424 Albemarle Point Pl., Chantilly

Memorial Recreation Park

This Fredericksburg park is stacked with amenities, including playgrounds, tennis courts, and, of course, pickleball courts. The park is home to five dedicated outdoor pickleball courts (four of which are new) giving athletes optimal space to practice their craft. 1301 Kenmore Ave., Fredericksburg

The Michael & Son Sportsplex at Dulles

Whether you want to show off your skills by joining an adult league or just enjoy a recreational game with friends, you can get your pickleball fix at the Sportsplex. With drop in availability throughout the week, you can hit the court whenever the urge strikes. Those wanting to play at the Sportsplex will need to apply for a membership. 21610 Atlantic Blvd., Sterling

Carver Center

Seniors can skip the wait at the crowded courts by heading to this 55-plus recreation center. The indoor court is a perfect spot to avoid the summer heat and humidity, with courts open for play on Tuesdays (2 to 4:45 p.m.), Thursdays (3:15 to 4:45 p.m.), and Saturdays (8:30 to 11:45 a.m.) throughout the summer months. 200 E. Willie Palmer Way, Purcellville

Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building

In 2020, the Prince William County building added eight (that’s right, eight) dedicated pickleball courts to its grounds. Replacing old tennis courts, the new setup became the first dedicated space for pickleball in the county, creating plenty of space for the game to grow. 15941 Donald Curtis Dr., Woodbridge
