Stage-Struck
“I’m currently reading Andrew Lloyd Webber’s autobiography, Unmasked. Guess which chapter I’m on? As I learn about the story behind the making of Jesus Christ Superstar, it seems only appropriate to head to Fauquier Community Theater’s outdoor production of the 1970 rock opera.” –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic

Get Out
“I love all of these date-night ideas, and especially want to hit up Escape Room Herndon. I absolutely love testing my sleuthing skills in escape rooms (spoiler: I’m terrible), and want to try this magician-themed one!” –Kelly Kendall, editor

Movie Marathon
“While Labor Day is usually my excuse to catch a Harry Potter movie marathon, this year I’m willing to make an exception. Instead of wands and witchcraft, I’ll be watching HBO’s documentary LFG. As a huge fan of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team, I’ve always wondered what went on behind the scenes when they won the World Cup while fighting for equal pay off the field.” –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor

The Shorter the Better
“The DC Shorts International Film Festival  will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event this year. While watching something digitally isn’t the same as the theater, short films kind of feel like artsy TV when you’re on the couch. Also, they put their collection from previous years up online to watch for free, sorted by genre and going back to 2004. So if it’s good, there’s fancy binge-watching to do for days.” –James Finley, senior editor
