This strategic Frisbee game has quite the following in NoVA. Here’s where you can play to your heart’s content throughout the summer.

NoVA residents are no strangers to all things exercise and making the most of getting outdoors.

That’s only part of the reason NOVA Disc Golf Association has continued to gather interest in the sport around Arlington and Fairfax counties. You can find the league playing at parks throughout the week, where all are welcome to learn the game, how to shoot straight and meet new people.

Here’s a few to check out through the summer.

Burke Lake Park
Test your skills on the course throughout this 888-acre park and before you leave, be sure to catch the sunset over the lake. If you decide to stay, there are campgrounds available to book throughout the summer. // 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station

Bull Run Regional Park
Instead of sliding through Atlantis Waterpark, pack a picnic and make use of the 1,500 acres of nature at Bull Run as your work way through the course. // 7700 Bull Run Drive, Centreville

Loriella Park
Take a risky shot over the pond on this more-challenging 18-hole course if you’re looking to up your game or blow off some steam. Players can also print out a disc golf scorecard from the park’s website. // 10910 Leavells Road, Fredericksburg

Pohick Bay Regional Park
Skip the playgrounds and leave your golf clubs behind to take a toss at this disc golf course instead. Visitors can also reserve a cabin to stay a little while longer. // 6501 Pohick Bay Drive, Lorton

John Lee Pratt Park
There are almost 10 soccer fields throughout this park, but the disc golf course is where you’ll want to be. Once you’ve finished, take a walk through the surrounding nature trails or the 1-mile biking and walking trail. // 120 River Road, Fredericksburg
