Elementary school to be named after John Jenkins; Loudoun Country approves road safety recommendations

On Wednesday, the Prince William County School Board voted unanimously to name the new elementary school, set to open in August on the Prince William Parkway, after John Jenkins, the Neabsco District supervisor who died on Feb. 6. (InsideNoVA)

Loudoun County Board of Supervisors adopted two plans on Tuesday to address corridor safety on Evergreen Mills and Watson Roads in Leesburg. The board has sent the plans to a future Capital Improvement Program budget for further prioritization. This is in response to the 625 crashes the corridor has seen over seven years this decade. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

Virginia Tech Transportation Institute is warning commuters of the effects Daylight Saving Time can have on the Monday morning commute. Clocks “spring forward” on Sunday, and crash risk increases during rush hours as a result. (WTOP)
