Editor’s Note: The campaign has since lowered its goal from $50,000 to $30,000.
Society Fair is in trouble.
“After six years, we have often been slow to better listen to what our customers want and have not changed with current trends enough at times,” reads the GoFundMe plea from the Alexandria bistro-bar-bakery-butcher-retail shop.
Now under new ownership—Cathal and Meshelle Armstrong of Eat Good Food Restaurant Group sold it to former Restaurant Eve chef Dan Fisher and his wife and former wine director at Charlie Palmer Steak Nadine Brown—the multi-concept space is seeking $50,000.
“Without help, our doors will close at the end of service on FEB 8. !!! This is a bit of a Hail Mary, but nothing more American as that last pitch. But we know we can do this,” writes the Society Fair team. As of Monday morning, the campaign, which started on Feb. 2, raised over $3,000. [GoFundMe]
