As Amazon gets ready to move in, Synetic Theater in Crystal City is moving out. JBG Smith decided not to renew the theater company’s lease at 1800 S. Bell St., where it had been since 2010. Synetic hopes to relocate to somewhere in Arlington, with JBG Smith releasing a statement saying it hopes to work with the theater to find a space in National Landing.

Virginia police are planning a crack down on drivers who violate the HOV rules on Interstate 66 during the morning and afternoon rush hours on Friday. Drivers going eastbound from 5:30-9:30 a.m. and westbound from 3-7 p.m. on designated portions of I-66 without the proper E-ZPass, or traveling without one, can lead to fines ranging from $125 for first-time offenders to $1,000 for repeat offenders.

Marriott revealed that as many as 500 million guests may have been affected by a massive data breach. The breach involved information from the Starwood hotels’ database, Marriott subsidiary. Information breached included names, email addresses, passport numbers and payment information.

The District Department of Transportation has announced plans to add a second two-track bridge over the Potomac River, connecting Arlington and D.C. There are also plans to create a new way to walk or bike across the river.

Plans for Fredericksburg schools to begin classes before Labor Day, either Aug. 12 or Aug. 19, in 2019 are now on hold, as it was announced the school system does not qualify for a pre-Labor Day start waiver.
