B Side is the type of place that feels instantly familiar, the friendly side of cool. It’s always dark, it’s always crowded. And the food is always meaty. With a butcher shop on the other side of the bar (Mosaic District’s Red Apron), the menu plays up its strengths: beef carpaccio where each delicate slice, topped with salted grated egg, dissipates on the tongue; bits of crispy pastrami are the hidden golden nuggets in a messy plate of fried potatoes, cheese whiz and sauerkraut; and a burger can’t rest on its grind alone, here pulled pork sits atop with a smoky barbecue sauce and American cheese. It’s gourmet bar food at its finest.
