The associate editor of the University of Virginia Center for Politics’ Sabato’s Crystal Ball, Geoffrey Skelley, believes that GOP Chairman John Whitbeck‘s Saturday resignation could be because of Prince William County Board Chair Corey Stewart’s win in the GOP Senate primary.

Sunday, passengers and crew of a United Express Jet flight to Houston were called back off the plane after it was reported that the cockpit had started smoking. No one was injured and everyone was transported to a different plane.

Sunday, regulations went into place requiring that Loudoun County homeowners putting their properties up on short-term rental sites like Airbnb and HomeAway first fill out a free registration form online.

Sunday at 10 p.m., a boat caught fire near the Loudoun County side of the Potomac River. The three passengers were able to escape, and though the blaze was put out by firefighters, the boat was so damaged that it sank.
