Snow Emergency declared in Washington, D.C.; Alexandria police officer accused of sexually assaulting, throwing chemicals on woman

Mayor Muriel Bowser has declared Washington, D.C., to be in a Snow Emergency state from 9 a.m. on Wednesday through 7 a.m. on Thursday During this time, vehicles must be removed from snow emergency routes designated by red and white signs.

Khurram Chaudhary, a 31-year-old Woodbridge man who served in the Alexandria Police Department for the past four years, has been arrested and is facing multiple charges—among them rape, domestic assault and battery, and malicious wounding by caustic substance—in the abuse of a 30-year-old woman that he lived with for six months.

The 24-year-old male that police believe is responsible for the recent string of exploding packages in Austin, Texas detonated an explosive device in his car as a SWAT team moved toward him, killing himself and injuring one officer.

The 17-year-old male who shot a 16-year-old female and a 14-year-old male at Great Mills High School in St. Mary’s County, Maryland on Tuesday, Austin Wyatt Rollins, has died. Police are trying to determine if the fatal injury that Rollins suffered was self-inflicted or he was shot and killed by the school resource officer. The 16-year-old girl, who was critically injured, was once in a relationship with Rollins.

Herndon 38-year-old Brian K. Welsh has been arrested and charged for the murder of Mala Manwani, 65, and her son Rishi Manwani, 32, the bodies of whom were found shot to death in their Aldie home. Police believe that Rishi Manwani and Welsh were involved with narcotics.
