Arlington County removes Confederate plaque; Punxsutawney Phil says six more weeks of winter

A Confederate plaque placed at the North Arlington Mill Drive and Wilson Boulevard intersection by the United Daughters of the Confederacy has been removed. The plaque called out what was once a Civil War lookout. The county said that they have no record of approving the plaque.

Some Virginia lawmakers would like to see 18-wheeler trucks carrying over 90,000 pounds of goods take to Virginia roads so that the Virginia Department of Transportation can study the “monster truck’s” impact.  The SB1276 bills have been met with great opposition from organizations like the Coalition Against Bigger Trucks (CABT).
