Those who registered to vote in Fairfax via DMV may be denied; Trump tells Kim Jong Un he has a “nuclear button” too

Around 5,000 people who recently moved to Fairfax County from another part of Virginia and attempted to update their voter registration via the Department of Motor Vehicles will soon be denied. Those who submitted voter registration changes via the Department of Elections’ website will likely be accepted.

32-year-old Democrat Katie Cristol was elected chair of the Arlington County Board on Tuesday night. Cristol, who wants to improve inside-the-Beltway child care for working families, became part of the board two years ago.

Individuals who submitted property tax prepayments to Arlington County in the hopes of making deductions on their federal taxes have the option to be refunded due to uncertainty about whether the deductions can be counted. The county has collected over $18.2 million from 2,300 accounts and there have already been 75 refund requests.

Registration for the largest race in Northern Virginia, the 12th Annual Reston Sprint Triathalon, will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The race, which will take place on June 3, is expected to sell out in only one day.
