Friends, “The One with All the Thanksgivings”
Season 5, Episode 8
According to Buzzfeed, this is the best of 10 Friends Thanksgiving episodes (check out the other nine if you’re in the mood to binge-watch). Here, Ross’s sad declaration that he is having the worst Thanksgiving ever, evidenced by his recent divorce and eviction, sparks up a conversation about everyone’s worst turkey days, taking viewers on a journey between past and present.
Gilmore Girls, “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving”
Season 3, Episode 9
For champion coffee drinkers and junk food eaters Lorelai and Rory, attending four Thanksgiving dinners seemed like a suitable challenge. As they make their way through each feast, surprisingly not eating excessive amounts of food at each, the mother-daughter duo discuss Rory’s college plans. To top it all off, Rory engages in a little lip action with “bad boy” Jess.
Gossip Girl, “Blair Waldorf Must Pie!”
Season 1, Episode 9
“Lonely Boy” Dan Humphrey invites then girlfriend and apparent queen of New York’s Upper East Side, Serena van der Woodsen, to his family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Unbeknownst to the younger adults, things get awkward for Serena’s mom, Lily, and Dan’s dad, Rufus, who had a romantic fling when they were younger. As for the infamous Blair Waldorf, her dad, Harold, winds up not coming home for the holiday, and while Nate gets to spend the day with both of his parents, he doesn’t seem to enjoy it. Flashbacks to the previous year’s festivities are scattered throughout, unlocking each character’s troubled past.
That ’70s Show, “Thank You”
Season 5, Episode 8
It’s 1978 and Eric and Donna are secretly engaged. But that’s not the only thing that Eric is keeping from his parents: he’s also failing math. When Kelso shows up with his date—Eric’s math teacher, Ms. McGee—Eric, who was been given permission to take his sister Laurie’s seat at the dinner table, struggles with whether or not to spill the beans.
Fuller House, “Fuller Thanksgiving”
Season 2, Episode 6
Unsurprisingly, nothing seems to go as planned for now grown-up Thanksgiving host D.J. Jesse and Becky are caught arguing, Joey and his family show up without RSVPing, and, as is the case with most families, no one wants to cooperate for a family photo. Tables turn as D.J., Kimmy and Stephanie have to tell the older adults to get their act together, but by the end of the day, as you can see in the clip above, it all works out.
