At Reston’s Washington West Film Festival this weekend, actor Robert Duvall will introduce a documentary about record producer Clive Davis’ life titled “Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives.” The screening, which takes place at Bow Tie Cinemas Friday at 7 p.m., will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the I-95 Express Lanes in Stafford County (part of a $50-million extension) will open ahead of schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Extending beyond Garrisonville Road, this addition will transport drivers to a northbound and southbouth exit ramp approximately one mile farther south.

Alexandria Police released details on Monday concerning the All Veterans Park shooting that left a 15-year-old boy injured (now in stable condition) and a 17-year-old girl and 19-year-old Maryland man dead. It is believed that the 19-year-old shot the 15-year-old and the 17-year-old before shooting himself. The teens reportedly knew each other, though the investigation is still ongoing.

Despite being a major player in Metro’s SafeTrack rehabilitation program, electrical arcing incidents (which occur when an electrical current makes its way to the ground) are on the rise. The events, which can lead to track fires, have doubled since last summer.

At their meeting next month, the Arlington County Board will discuss changes to outdoor seating permits. In May, Westover Beer Garden was in talks with the County Board about ways that they could grow their space, but were confronted by county noise and seating violations. A new County Board plan could allow for noise restrictions and seating capacity to be reviewed case-by-case.
