Northern Virginia’s latest developments include a new Lake Ridge brewery, Benjamin Banneker Park’s expansion and construction for a new public school system in Loudoun County.

Lake Ridge Set to Get Brewery with Water’s End
Those to the south on I-95 are getting a brewery of their own as Water’s End Brewery is set to open this summer in Dillingham Square in Lake Ridge. Owned by Zach Mote, Josh Fournelle and Ryan Sharkey, the three college friends started out as homebrewers. The plan is to have five or six beers on tap and add as the business grows, and they expect to have the place open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to start.

Benjamin Banneker Park Expanding
Arlington County Board approved the expansion of the park, paying $637,500 for an 8,487-square-foot lot adjacent to the existing park. The home currently on the property will be demolished and the site restored, costing an estimated $50,000.

Academies of Loudoun Technology Campus Breaks Ground
After a decade, the 120-acre parcel of land on Sycolin Road has finally been prepped and broken into for the 300,000-square-foot technology center as part of the public school system that will host three disciplines: Academy of Science, Monroe Advanced Technology Academy and the Academy of Engineering and Technology. Construction is expected to take two years.
